As the Eagles work towards the start of the 2021 NFL season, it’s never too early for a look ahead at Philadelphia’s pending 2022 free agents list.

The Eagles will have 46 guys eligible for some form of free agency, with Dallas Goedert, Jordan Mailata, and Derek Barnett the homegrown headliners. Guys like Anthony Harris, Eric Wilson, and Ryan Kerrigan also return to the open market.

Alshon Jeffery also carries a dead money cap hit of $5.4 million.

Here’s an early look.

2022-2023 years automatically void

Graham’s contract extension essentially became a one-year deal with the other two years as voids. The Eagles brought Graham back for his leadership, but he’ll be 33 at the end of this season, and Philadelphia will have Josh Sweat and Derek Barnett as free agents.

Jason Kelce/ UFA

2022-2025 automatically void prior to 2022 league year ($15M of dead cap)

In 2021, Kelce will earn a base salary of $1,075,000 and a signing bonus of $7,925,000, while carrying a cap hit of $5,574,000.

2022-2023 are dummy years that automatically void

In 2021, Ertz will earn a base salary of $8,500,000, while carrying a cap hit of $12,721,500 and a dead cap value of $7,769,500.

Rodney McLeod/UFA

14. Rodney McLeod: $5,200,000

McLeod will be 32 and the leader of the Eagles secondary could need a career year to return.

Anthony Harris/UFA

The former Viking signed a one-year deal and a big 2021 could see him return to Philadelphia under Jonathan Gannon.

Joe Flacco/ UFA

Derek Barnett/UFA

10. Derek Barnett: $10,051,000

In 2021, Barnett will earn a base salary of $10,051,000, while carrying a cap hit of $10,051,000 and a dead cap value of $10,051,000.

The former first-round pick could be in line for a 4-year, $40 million deal that could add more cap space for the Eagles.

Dallas Goedert/UFA

It makes no sense to use the franchise tag on Goedert.

The Eagles legit No. 1 tight end once Zach Ertz moves on, Goedert could be in line for a breakout season.

A solid contributor over the past three seasons, Goedert has 137 receptions, 1,465 yards receiving, and 12 touchdowns in 42 career games.

Goedert hasn’t been an elite tight end, but neither is Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry, and both were paid well this offseason by the New England Patriots. The Eagles’ tight end won’t get Travis Kelce or George Kittle money, but he’s just as valuable as Smith and Henry potential-wise.

In 11 games played during the 2020 NFL season, Goedert finished outside the top-16 in catches and yards, but his numbers were better than Smith’s and slightly behind Henry despite playing three fewer games.

Goedert could be in line for a four-year, $52 million contract with the Eagles, with the tight end getting around $30 million in fully guaranteed salary.

Per Over The Cap, that number would be put Goedert at $13 million per season, and right behind Travis Kelce for the highest average per year.
