I think after missing the 2020 season due to the pandemic, it’s pretty clear from the return last week that Fayetteville had really missed its annual summer concert series at Gulley Park.
The park was as packed as we’ve ever seen it last week, and we are expecting more of the same when local bluegrass band Arkansauce takes the stage for a show this Thursday, July 1.
Arkansauce is a local four-piece string band, known for “bending the rules and blurring the lines” between a host of genres, including bluegrass, folk, Americana, and more. The band is a local favorite for many, and have been packing shows from George’s Majestic Lounge, to Fayetteville Roots Festival, Botanical Garden of the Ozarks, and countless others for several years now.
The Gulley Park Summer Concert Series is organized by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department and features free outdoor live music with plenty of room for picnic blankets and lawn chairs throughout the fields surrounding the gazebo stage at Gulley Park in east Fayetteville.
The music starts at 7 p.m., and the concerts are free and open to the public. Coolers are welcome for those who’d like to pack beverages, snacks or dinner, but food vendors will also be set up around the park.
