The Cañon City Nutrition Department has provided 841 breakfasts and 1,094 lunches since the free dine-in summer meal program began May 27 at Cañon City High School. They’ve also provided 3,449 breakfasts and the same number of lunches from their mobile unit since it began service on June1.
The dine-in option is available at CCHS, 1313 College Ave. A hot breakfast is served from 8-9:30 a.m. and hot lunch is available from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Grab-and-go meals also are available to pick up at Cañon Exploratory School from 11-11:15 a.m.; Harrison K-8 School from 11:25-11:40 a.m.; McKinley Elementary School from 12-12:15 p.m.; and Lincoln School of Science & Technology from 12:25-12:45 p.m. Monday through Friday.
All meals are provided free to children ages 18 and younger. The program runs through July 30.
