It’s that time of the month again. Sony is set to reveal next month’s free PlayStation Plus games later this week, so we can speculate and hypothesize ahead of time.
June marks a big shift for Sony’s subscription service. Now, instead of just the basic PS Plus you can also choose from two more expensive tiers that add a ton of games to play for free.
Depending on which tier you get, this new catalogue of games stretches across every PlayStation generation.
The ‘Essential’ PS Plus tier is what subscribers have now, and costs $9.99/month or $24.99 for 3 months, or $59.99 for a full year.
PlayStation Plus ‘Extra’ adds a bunch of PS4 and PS5 games for $14.99/month, $39.99/3 months or $99.99/year.
Finally, PS Plus ‘Premium’ (or ‘Deluxe’ in some regions) adds games from across the PS1/PS2/PS3 era (some downloadable and some streaming, which is the case for PS3 games) and costs $17.99/month, $49.99/3 months or $119.99 per year.
Every tier includes the monthly free games, which are the ones we’re here to talk about today.
PS Plus Leaks, Rumors and Predictions
As of this writing there have been zero leaks for June’s free games. Much of the focus of leakers has been on the new offerings and game lists for the additional two tiers.
If this changes and we get a leak before Wednesday I’ll update this post.
We can still make some predictions, however.
With a release date of June 7th it’s possible that Spellforce 3 will be a PS Plus giveaway for June. This is unlikely, however, since the game is available to pre-order on the PlayStation store.
Other options include a Call Of Duty game since Modern Warfare 2 is set to be revealed next month and COD titles often make it onto PS Plus around a reveal.
Outriders is another good guess since there’s an expansion set for June 28th. The Worldslayer expansion would be more tempting to players who got the game for free that same month.
Other possible titles include Spiritfarer, Rust and Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2, all of which would make sense for June’s PS Plus lineup since these are older titles that have yet to come to the service.
What games do you hope to see next month? Will you be signing up for one of the more expensive tiers? Let me know on Twitter or Facebook.
