Finke Sets American Record in 1,500m Free on Day 8 of FINA World Championships - Florida Gators

BUDAPEST, Hungary - Bobby Finke set his second American Record of the week, touching the wall in 14:36.70 to claim silver in the 1,500m free final on Day 8 of the FINA World Championships.
 
Natalie Hinds and Eric Friese both competed in the preliminary 4x100 medley relays Saturday morning, with Friese competing in the finals for Germany in the afternoon as well.
 
Men's 1,500m Free
Bobby Finke tallied his second medal of the week, winning a silver in the 1,500m free and a gold in the 800m free. Finke now is the fastest American ever in the 800m free and 1,500m free.
 
Men's 4x100m Medley Relay
Eric Friese split a 51.73 in the third leg of the prelim relay, pacing Germany to a seventh seed in the finals. In the finals, Germany finished 6th at 3:32.63.
 
Women's 4x100m Medley Relay
Natalie Hinds swam the third leg of the women's 400m medley relay prelim on Saturday morning, helping team USA to the seventh overall seed at 4:00.06. The team of Regan Smith, Lily King, Torri Huske, and Claire Curzan finished in first during the afternoon final.
 
Sunday's open water competition is set to begin at 7 a.m. ET.
